Thoughts on the Inauguration

No matter what your political leanings, it is hard not to be touched on a day like today. I think about the turmoil that often accompanies changes in government in other places in the world and I am so grateful for our great republic. I am thankful for the amazing crowds that turned out to witness a truly historic and wonderful event. I have never seen such reverence and respect from such a large crowd. I love the first photo because there is joy on the faces of each one of them, though for very different reasons. I love that we will have happy, smiling children and a puppy in the White House. I love that this First Family has an obvious love for each other. I love the joy on the face of the girl in the last photo. What an amazing, crazy, diverse, dynamic, strong-willed country we live in! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I believe that he represents grander things for many Americans! It's about time we had some color in the Oval office. I just don't think his socialist attitude is the best for America. I was saddened upon hearing that he picked the same old democrats as his cohorts. I really expected some thing different to go along with the Change spewed at every speech. Praying for him & his ideals to match those of our Father in Heavens. May his version of CHANGE reflect a return to the values of those founding fathers he admires so much! His girls are cute and hope they weather the storm of political warfare well! They are just so young. Michelle seems great at keeping reality a thread of their upbringing.

Your words made me cry. Nothing (and nobody) is perfect, but I love the way you found the happy, hopeful things.
